BRENCE – William. J. “Bill,” 66, Wilmore, died June 16, 2026 at Windber Hospice surrounded by his loving family. Born January 12, 1960, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by father, Karl J. Brence.

Survived by mother, Anna Marie (Kozar) Brence; loving wife, Maureen M. (Shultz) Brence, whom he met in May 1979 and married on June 19, 1982; daughter, Amy Bell (David Forbes); son, Thomas (Lauren Six); grandchildren, Makenna and Maci Bell and George and Maggie Brence; brothers, David (Sherry Harvey) and Michael (Pamela Minor); sisters, Barbara (Joe Cowan); Maria (Joseph Gibson); and Susan (Scott Borelle); as well as many nieces and nephews; and his faithful Chihuahua, Buddy.

He graduated from Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech in 1977, attending Forest Hills prior. Bill drove a truck for many years, employed by Summerhill Township, Sherbine's Concrete, Lowe's, and Home Depot.

For nearly four decades he served his community on Wilmore Borough Council, including as their current president. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wilmore. Bill was involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 63 and the Adams Township Lions Club. Most of all, Bill found joy outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman spending his free time with his family on their special piece of ground.
