Valerie J. Kostyk

KOSTYK – Valerie J., 59, South Fork, died October 7, 2021 at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born August 21, 1962, in Johnstown, daughter of the late John Sr. and Geraldine (Fetterman) Kostyk.

Survived by brothers, John Jr., Waymart, Pennsylvania; and Walter “Tony,” South Fork; sisters, Crystal, wife of Robert Yahnert, Nanty Glo; and Victoria, wife of James Vasbinder, Brownsville; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Val was a familiar face for many years behind the counter of the South Fork News Stand and was a retired machine operator with Stineman Ribbon and Awards Company. She enjoyed walking throughout her neighborhood and could often be found hand crafting beautiful artwork at the South Fork Library’s Crochet & Knit Club.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend Randolph Landman, presiding.

Following cremation interment will be held at South Fork Cemetery.
