She began her career as an agent with Cauffiel Brothers before becoming broker and co-owner, alongside Val Ashbrook, of American Dream Real Estate, Appraisal & Management Inc., where for 24 years, she helped people find the home of their dreams. She later continued her career with Century 21 All Service, Inc., before retiring in 2024. She was a member, past president, and director of Cambria Somerset Association of Realtors, which honored her as Realtor of the Year in 1995. She was also a member of Pennsylvania Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. Beyond her professional life, Val was involved in the South Fork Women’s Club and the South Fork Jayceettes. Val also had a competitive side, especially when it came to a good game of pinochle!
