MYERS – Shirley M., 92, Barnhart, Missouri; formerly of South Fork, went to be with the Lord, October 15, 2021, at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Missouri. Born June 14, 1929, in South Fork, daughter of Robert E. “Teddy” and Ida Mae (Link) Peel.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harry Blair Myers, who died January 21, 2011; sisters, Naomi Schrader, Ruth Barnouski, Jean Gramling, and Roselyn June Leach.
Survived by daughter, Sally, wife of William Barkhymer, Barnhart, Missouri; son, Daniel, married to Deborah (Hagenbuch), Boyton Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Patrick, Brittnye (Arthur), and David; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Maxine Chaney, Holidaysburg, Pennsylvania; Joanne Primel, Parma, Ohio; Janice Lydic, Toledo, Ohio; and Billie Rae Moss, South Fork; and brother, John “Ted,” South Fork.
Active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork, where she served in many of their ministries, and in other capacities as a gifted and loving member of the laity. Shirley retired from Steinman’s Ribbon and Trophy after more than 30 years of service. She was an excellent baker. Her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren enjoyed her apple pie and cinnamon roles. She crocheted, read books, enjoyed puzzles, word searches, and watched the birds outside her window. Shirley loved children.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church; her son, Pastor Dan Myers, Presiding.
