Rowena Mae Penrod

PENROD – Rowena Mae, 90, South Fork, formerly of Llanfair, died January 5, 2026. Born April 4, 1935, in Johnstown, daughter of Beulah (Oswalt) Gage.

Preceded in death by mother; husband, Merle R. Penrod, who died August 28, 2003; son Rodney, daughter-in-law, Brenda (Williams) Penrod; son-in-law, Albert Potter Jr., great granddaughter, Gabriella Potter; and stepfather, Russell Gage.

Survived by son, Merle “Buddy” (Susie); daughters, Lori Yatsky (Mike); and Trena Potter; grandchildren, Albert III, Jason, Lacy (Jesse Bernard) and Melissa; and great grandchildren, Isabella, Briawna, Kayden, Ellie Mae, Mason, Zoey, and Chloe.

Rowena loved her cats! She appreciated the simple things and took pride in the work of her own hands. She enjoyed gardening and canning and was a great baker who turned simple ingredients into warm bread and delicious desserts. She was our beacon, our world, and kept us together!

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; the Reverend Randy Landman, presiding. Interment, Oak Cemetery.
