Ron was a graduate of Penn Cambria High School, Class of 1969; where he played football for four years as center on the offense and a linebacker on the defense. He served his country with honor for 17 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He dedicated over 40 years to the railroad industry, working for Penn Central, Conrail, and eventually retired from Norfolk Southern. A member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Parish in Lilly, Ron’s quiet faith guided his life and gave him strength. Nonnie was also a member of the Lilly Sokols Club, American Legion, and Jamestown Rod and Gun. He loved being outdoors, hunting, or just enjoying the fresh air and nature. But more than anything, Ron cherished his family. Nothing lit up his face more than watching his grandchildren play sports. He was their biggest fan, always there, cheering from the sidelines with pride.
