Rodger J. Penrod Sr.

PENROD – Rodger J. Sr., 91, Beaverdale, died September 15, 2025. Born April 20, 1934, in Croyle Township, son of Daniel F. Sr. and Gladys (Carl) Penrod. Preceded in death by parents; his beloved wife and sweetheart, Alice May (Sherman) Penrod, who died August 27, 2008; daughter, Cindy Wilde; sisters, Dolores “Sue” Penrod and Mary Kuhar; and brothers, Delmar, Wilbur, Albert, Charles, Merle, and Daniel “Jake” Penrod. 

Survived by son, Roger Jr. (Barb Brown); and daughter, Marion Klett (Paul Brutvan); brother, Carl Penrod (Ramona); grandchildren, Crystal, Jamie (Martin), Shannon (Joseph), Johnny, Bruce Jr. (Anndala), many great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters; and son-in-law, Bruce Wilde. Rodger was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1954. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He taught us to work hard and appreciate what we have. He loved his family and cherished quiet moments in the woods hunting and fishing. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday September 17, and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Thursday September 18, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend Randy Landman, presiding. 

Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
