SNYDER – Rita Marie Snyder, 87, Sunrise, Florida, formerly of Summerhill and Southmont, passed away Jan. 25 at Westside Medical Center, Plantation, Florida. Daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Darling) Snyder, Rita was a graduate of South Fork High School and Mt. Aloysius Junior College. Before moving to New Jersey in 1961, Rita was employed as a laboratory technician at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. After relocating to South Florida in 1972, Rita worked as a phlebotomist at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale until her retirement. Survived by sister, Shirley Snyder Boardman, Pompton Plains, New Jersey; brother, Thomas, married to Eileen (Clossey), Tamarac, Florida; nieces, Rebecca Santaniello and her husband Gerard; and Penny Tarpey and her husband Brian, grand-niece, Delaney Tarpey; and three grand-nephews, Christopher Santaniello, Thomas Santaniello , and Connor Tarpey, all of Wayne, New Jersey. Rita will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends, including friends and relatives in the Summerhill and Johnstown areas. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27 at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Sunrise, Florida, with final inurnment to take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Germany, at the family’s convenience. Local arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
