BAXTER - Ricky L. “Winks,” 63, South Fork, died December 21, 2022. Born May 3, 1959, in Johnstown, son of Wayne and Shirley H. (Thomas) Baxter. Preceded in death by parents, nephew, Brandon Baxter; and great niece, Gracie Williamson.

Survived by siblings, Galen, married to Debbie (Sweeny), Portage; Vickie, wife of David Gruss, South Fork; and Ray, married to Christine (Horner), Windber; Uncle, Bob, married to Diana (Chicoli) Baxter, Sidman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1977. Rick worked in the coal mining industry for many years, and later retired from Pepsi. He enjoyed gardening; was an avid sports fan, coached in the Johnstown Colt League; and never missed watching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he was needed. He was always smiling and had something witty to say to cheer you up. Rick will be deeply missed by all who loved him and had the privilege of knowing him, especially his best buddy Wesley. “PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION TODAY!”

Honoring his wishes, a graveside inurnment service will be held at the convenience of the family at South Fork Cemetery.
