WILKINSON – Richard P. Jr., 95, Mineral Point, died September 17, 2025. Born July 20, 1930, in Spangler, son of Richard P. and Catherine (Costlow) Wilkinson. Preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Nancy Troxel and Margaret Zubeck.
Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Joanne M. (Gabany) Wilkinson, whom he married May 20, 1961; sons, William R.; and Richard P. III, married to Tak Ling Joanna (Chan) Wilkinson; granddaughters, Kira and Sofia; brother, Oswald, married to Virginia (Caldwell); and sister, Gretchen Baudoux.
Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summerhill. Dick was a graduate of Adams Township High School, class of 1948. He was a US Army combat veteran of the Korean War and member of the St. Michael American Legion Post 551. Following his service, he went on to work for Bethlehem Steel, working as a millwright at the Franklin Mills and later worked for the Croyle Township Water Authority. He was a founding member of the Seven Wonders Hunting Camp in Snow Shoe, Centre County. Richard led a life grounded in faith, devoted to his country, defined by hard work, and filled with love for his family.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
