Richard A. Evans

Richard A. Evans, 78, of Huntingdon, PA; passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at home. He was born February 21, 1947, in Johnstown, PA; son of the late Fred W. and Kathryn L. (Empfield) Evans. Richard was a man of integrity, known for his quiet strength and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Survived by wife, Carol (Motchenbaugh) Evans; son, Jason Evans and wife Danielle (Black); son, Paul Evans and wife Danielle (Moore); grandchildren, Caleb, Gabrielle, Bryce, and Adrianna; brother, Fred Evans Jr. and wife Imelda; in-laws, John and Barbara Pauley, David and Doris Motchenbaugh, Raymond and Karen Motchenbaugh, Denis and Mary Sue Long, Patricia Motchenbaugh, Nancy Motchenbaugh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He began his professional career after serving in the military and retired from FCI Electronics. He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an active member of the community. He coached little league baseball, volunteered for meals on wheels, soup kitchen, food pantry, served on parish council, and was a Eucharistic Minister at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. 

Friends will be received at the church Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9 a.m. until Rosary at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 524 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon, PA 16652, Father Mark Reid, celebrant. 

A private committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in New Germany, PA. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
