Phyllis Mae Jennings

October 18, 1941 — August 11, 2023

JENNINGS - Phyllis Mae, 81, passed away August 11, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital due to an acute illness. Born October 18, 1941, in Windber; daughter of Michael and Gertrude (Hritz) Toth. Preceded in death by parents; and husband, Donald on January 19, 2006.

Survived by her only child, Michele, married to Brian Cannone; and her only grandchild and love of her life, Jaydon Reigh Cannone. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine Schellhammer (Jesse), brother, Michael Toth; and numerous friends whom she talked to daily.

Phyllis was a baker and made the best nut and apricot rolls, the most outstanding salad dressing; and her son-in-law’s favorite, homemade ham salad. She was the best shopping and lunch buddy. She loved the casino and even had a favorite slot machine. She was always up for whatever adventure her family had in store for her. She tolerated her daughter calling her numerous times a day (but secretly loved it). She loved to hear about her granddaughters’ accomplishments and was so proud of her. Phyllis was a humble woman who would give what she had to anyone who needed it. She was one of a kind and will be missed by everyone. Phyllis was a member of Saints Gregory and Barnabas Parish.

At her request, there will be no viewing. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

A celebration of life will be held in Phyllis’s memory near her birthday this October.

In honor of her love of birds, please consider memorial donations to the Audubon Society of Western PA, 614 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 or online at: https://aswp.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/aswp/donation.jsp
