Survived by mother, Amanda (Stein) Fyock; father, Ryan Fyock; siblings, PFC Gabriel, Blake, Dallas, Dalton, and Jackie; grandparents, Peggy and Ron Klein; grandmother, Linda Fyock – Weaver; great grandmother, Nancy Varner; aunts and uncles, Christian and Denise Fyock, Ronnie and Jackie Klein, and Sarah Klein; great aunts and uncle, Reesie Kaylor and Jude and Christi Varner; and numerous beloved cousins and friends.
Derek was a 2022 graduate of Forest Hills High School. Driven by a sense of purpose and a heart full of ambition he enlisted in the military. Stationed at Fort Hood, Texas; he served as a PFC, Active Duty, US Army, C CO, 2-5 CAV, 1ABCT, 1CD. A "Tanker" through and through, he had all the courage and resolve of someone far beyond his years. He chose the Army, because he believed in the mission, and above all, he believed in the bonds of brotherhood. His charismatic personality was one of a kind. He was the guy everyone gravitated toward. His laugh could fill any room, though it wasn’t just his smile or his humor, it was his heart. He was never ashamed of being a “mama’s boy” and was fiercely loyal, to his family, friends, and his brothers in arms. We promise to honor you by living with the same courage, loyalty, and joy that you did. We love you, and you will never be forgotten.
