Peter Paul Bertolino Jr.

July 10, 1928 — March 18, 2022

BERTOLINO – Peter Paul Jr., 93, St. Michael, died March 18, 2022, at Windber Woods. Born July 10, 1928, in Sidman, son of Peter P. Sr. and Bernice “Maggie” (Mickus) Bertolino. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Catherine “Kay” (Evacko) Bertolino, who died February 14, 2022; brother, John L.; sisters-in-law, Agnes and Martha Bertolino; nephews, Michael Bertolino and Kevin Smay; niece Theresa Fleck; great niece, Nicole Bertolino; and great nephew, Kyle Fleck.

Survived by daughter, Cathy, wife of Jeff Madison, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Jonathan, Fullerton, California; and Erin, Harrisburg; brothers, James, South Fork; and Charles, married to Mary Ann (Trotter), South Fork; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Bon Aire; where he was an active and loving member of the parish and enjoyed making pierogies for the Lenten Fish Fries. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and retired electrician from the IBEW Union after 57 years. Active in the community he loved, he was a member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551, served with the Adams Township Police and Fire Departments, was a safety officer for the Forest Hills School District; and crew chief for the United Way 1889 Park project, assisting in the design and construction of the building, pavilions, and Miners Memorial. A good day started with friends at Rita’s in Summerhill for breakfast and a good night was a lucky night at the casino. He was a talented artist and had a passion for drawing cartoon characters for family and friends. His collection of over 500 mugs included one for each Super Bowl. An avid sportsman, Pete followed the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins and had fond memories of his years playing in the Cambria County Industrial Baseball League. He especially enjoyed watching Legion Baseball and cheering on the Forest Hills Rangers Football team, with his wife from their seats on the 20 yard line. Though he fell asleep in this world, he has awakened in Heaven. Not only does he live in the presence of God now, he has rejoined those loved ones who went before him and whom he has longed to see again.

The family respectfully requests masks be worn at the funeral home and at the Church.
