Paul J. Kundrod

KUNDROD – Paul J., 88, Sidman, loving Husband, Father, Pap and Great Grandpap, died June 6, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center.

Born April 26, 1934, in St. Michael, son of Michael Sr. and Mary (Petrunak) Kundrod. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Jacob Scott Kundrod; and brothers, Michael and Donald.

Survived by loving wife of 61 years, Clare (Bopp) Kundrod, whom he married June 25, 1960; sons, Paul M., married to Beth (Blanchetti), St. Michael; Brian, married to Deborah (Plummer), Denver, Pennsylvania; Rodney, married to Karen (McCall), Sidman; and Gary, married to Brenda (Myers), St. Michael; grandchildren, Katie, wife of Chris Meyers; Megan, wife of Josh Petrisko; Nathan Kundrod; Briann Hess; Kristen, Evan, and Dylan Kundrod; and Madison, Garrett, and Carson Kundrod; great grandchildren, Aiden, Landon, and Shawn Hess; and Brody Meyers; and in-laws, Bob and Fran Bopp, Regis Schall, and Joyce Kundrod.

Member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael and social member of Adams Township Volunteer Fire Company, No. 2, St. Michael. Paul retired from Bethlehem Steel, Gautier Division with 34 years of service and worked for 20 years as a security officer at MetLife. His strength of character and great calm had a way of putting others at ease. He could often be found at the post office, his grandchildren’s sports events, or Lenten fish frys; chatting with neighbors, strangers, and friends. The memory of his warm and welcoming smile combined with his kind and gentle manner will forever brighten our day.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday June 8, 2022, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday June 9, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Brian Warchola, Celebrant. Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
