ANDRYKOVITCH - Mary Jo, 94, Bethel Park, formerly of Sidman, passed peacefully to be with the Lord on July 3, 2026. Born July 7, 1931, in Beaverdale. Preceded in death by parents, John and Mary M. (Krupa) Andrykovitch; brother, Albert "Buddy" Andrykovitch; sister, Dolores "Dillie" Mucko; and brother-in-law, Joseph T. "Guzda" Mucko Jr.
Survived by niece, Dianne (Greg) Falvo; nephews, David (Kim) Mucko; and John (Paul Cook) Mucko, Quincy, Massachusetts. Cherished great aunt of Stephen Falvo, Pleasant Hills; Jessica (Grant) Irwin, Cincinnati, Ohio; Luke Falvo, Pittsburgh; Sara (Zane) Miller, Sewickley; Marc Mucko, Oakmont; and proud great-great-aunt of Wyatt and Quinn Irwin; and Tessa and Lennon Miller.
Graduate of Beaverdale High School, class of 1949 and longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church. As an executive secretary, Mary Jo had exceptional skills - one of those being shorthand, a long-lost skill of the past. She worked for the President of the former Crane Co. in Johnstown, for the President of UPJ when it first opened, for the FBl, and for the President of the State Welfare office in Johnstown. Keeping in line with the status of her position, Mary always presented herself as being very competent, classy, well-polished - a true professional. Mary Jo lived a very blessed life, full of the love and laughter of her family and many friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling and cruise vacations with friends. Many Sunday afternoons she was either bowling on a team with Guzda or partnering with him to play pinocle. They were quite the team! Mary Jo and her sister, Dillie, attended countless church and fire hall bingos as faithful 'contributors', winning occasionally, but not enough according to them. Often, she and Dillie engaged in very competitive Phase 10 card games - sisterly love be damned. She also faithfully served on the St. Michael Church Bereavement Committee that catered funeral luncheons. In her spare time, Mary Jo developed quite a proficiency at needle work, producing many beautiful mini works of art. All through her life Mary Jo was exceptionally generous to her niece and nephews - Dianne, David, and John. With her mobile home in their backyard, she was always around to help with babysitting and taking them on vacations. She was always a most generous aunt for birthdays, holidays, graduations, and weddings. Mary Jo thought of Dianne, David, and John as "her kids." She spoiled them in whatever way she could and was always there for them throughout their childhood as well as their adult lives. Becoming a great aunt to Stephen, Jessica, Sara, Marc, and Luke and then a great-great aunt to Wyatt, Quinn, Tessa, and Lennon brought her unimaginable joy. Her magnanimous generosity to them knew no bounds. Tears and laughter will forever accompany the many family events and stories that Mary Jo played a central part in. Later in life, Mary Jo's true calling became obvious — she become a devoted, compassionate care giver to her mother and then to her younger brother, Buddy. They both lived long, happy lives in great part due to Mary Jo's deep love and devotion in attending to all of their needs.
Mary Jo fell asleep in this world but has awakened in heaven. Not only does she live in the presence of God - she has rejoined those loved ones who went before her, and whom she has longed to see again. Mary Jo will be in our hearts forever - may she rest in heavenly peace.
