Lillian M. Pisarski

PISARSKI – Lillian M., 86, Summerhill, went to be with the Lord June 16, 2024, at home, surrounded by family. Born January 16, 1938, in Summerhill, daughter of Edward L. and Regina Mary (Bodenschatz) Werfel. Preceded in death by parents; her beloved husband, Louis J. Pisarski, who died August 22, 1987; sisters, Violet Templeton, Irene Timura, and Mary Jane Knisel; and brothers, Walter, Gerald, Charles, and Clyde Werfel.

Survived by children, Cynthia, wife of Paul McGaha; Louis, married to Michelle (Shaffer); Edward; Anthony; Maria, wife of Brock Eppley; Timothy, married to Elly (Pileski); and Virginia, wife of James Stephen; grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Christopher, Louis, Nicole, Courtney, Morgan, Madison, Emma, Willa, Tate, and James; sisters, Nora Mae Zebarth, Marian Werfel, and Carolyn Varner; and brother, Edward Werfel; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Lill was a graduate of Beaverdale – Wilmore High School, class of 1956. She taught us that nurturing the land, family ties, friendships, and faith with love leads to a fulfilling and abundant life. She respected the rhythm of God’s creation and understood that farming wasn’t just about the harvest, but about the journey of growth and care along the way. She was known for her baking and sewing, her maple syrup was a local treasure, and her sweet corn was a taste of summer's bounty. Lillian had a special affection for autumn. She loved the crisp air, the vibrant colors of mums, and the beauty of fall decorations. But above all, her family and friends were her greatest joy! The seeds she sowed left deep roots in our hearts and our community, and her spirit will continue to guide us in the fields, in our kitchens, and in every autumn leaf that falls. 

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Wilmore; Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
