June M. Wess

WESS - June M., 90, New Germany, died September 30, 2021, at home surrounded by loving family. Born April 11, 1931, in Devil's Hollow, daughter of Jacob E. and Frances M. (Schrift) Roush. Preceded in death by parents; son Edward D. Wess, sister, Edith Harshberger, twin brother, Edward Roush, and brothers, Russell and Thomas Roush.

Survived by devoted husband of 70 years, Raymond R. Wess, whom she married December 28, 1950; sons, Rick, married to Evie (McMasters); Jim, married to Nan (Castine); Gary, married to Margaret (Hanlon); and Bob, married to Arlene (Hudak); daughters, Donna, wife of Denis Long; Nancy, wife of Zoog Ostrosky; Darlene, wife of Rick Maser; Sandy, wife of Mike Gdula; and Jen, wife of Lance Kline; daughter-in-law, Karen (Kulback) Wess; twenty-six grandchildren; and forty-two great grandchildren.

June was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany; and was active with their Altar and Rosary Society. Graduate of South Fork – Croyle High School, class of 1949. Following high school, she worked for the local sewing factory. She later worked for several credit unions and retired from MERHO Federal Credit Union. June had the best smile, always looked so pretty and stylish, and had a kind heartfelt word for everyone. She was an exceptional cook known for many delicious dishes and baked goods. She cherished time spent with family and relaxing on her porch swing with her beloved Ray.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where the Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
