KNISEL – Joseph, 69, Houston, Texas; formerly of New Germany, went from us unexpectedly, on Saturday May 23, 2026. Born June 1, 1956. Preceded in death by parents, Walter J. and Mary Jane (Werfel) Knisel; infant twin sisters, Mary Joan and Mary Jean; and brother Ronald Knisel.
Survived by sisters, Mary Ann Adams, Rose Marie Penatzer, Karen Beyer, and Rita Mason; children, Tracy Jordan, Julie Knisel, Zachary and wife Elizabeth Knisel, and Abigail Knisel; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was a tireless volunteer around St. Christopher's Episcopal church; he attended for decades. Captain J. Knisel served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, later becoming an aviation mechanic. He enjoyed fixing and repurposing things. He had a passion for riding his BMW motorcycle with his buddies who also rode trials. He always had a smile and a kind word and was famous for giving hugs for free.
Friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2026, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, Father Joseph C. Nale, presiding.
