McGREEHAN - John A., 78, of Cherry Log, GA, formerly of Brunswick, OH and Sidman, PA, passed into eternity on December 19, 2025.
He was born on March 7, 1947 in Johnstown to the late William Sr. and Letah (Stroh) McGreehan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Robert and sister, Rita Holtzman.
John was a 1965 graduate of Triangle Area High School in Sidman. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Garland Industries, Inc. of Cleveland, OH. He was an avid reader, also an aficionado and master of Sudoku puzzles – the harder, the better. He was always looking for that next challenging project to create something unusual and more interesting than the last.
He is survived by sons, Gregory and Michael of Brunswick, OH; brothers, William Jr. of Fort Myers, Fl and Thomas of Emigrant, MT; and sister, Ruth Apa of New Cumberland, PA; grandsons Matthew and Kristopher McGreehan; many nieces and nephews; as well as the children’s mother, Natalie McGreehan.
The family gives sincere thanks and blessings to John’s friends, Clayton Stevens of Cherry Log, and Timothy and Pamela Trusty of Blue Ridge, GA for their Christ inspired friendship, kindness, compassion and assistance in John’s care during the past several years. Their perseverance through adversity is a life model for others to follow.
There will be no public service or visitations. Local arrangements handled by the Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, PA. Interment will be private and at the family’s convenience in the St. Michael Church Cemetery, St. Michael, PA.
