HOMZA – John P. “Pap,” 95, Sidman, died September 6, 2026. Born June 25, 1931, on the family farm in Mineral Point. Preceded in death by parents; Joseph A. and Anna M. (Gurchik) Homza; son, Charlie; brothers, Steven and Joseph Jr. (Helen); and sisters, Mary Fetchkan (John) and Margaret Varner (Jim).

Growing up on the family farm, John learned at an early age what hard work was all about. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a mechanic. After returning home, he worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a bricklayer and pipe insulator. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. Some of the best memories were made fishing with his kids when they were young. He had a knack for figuring out how things worked and could fix just about anything!
Private graveside service at Pringle Hill Carpenters Cemetery will be held at convenience of the family. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Special thanks to AseraCare for their kindness and care.
