Jennie Walukas

WALUKAS – Jennie, 106, Northville, Michigan; formerly of South Fork, went to be with the Lord June 25, 2025. Born November 11, 1918, in South Fork, the oldest child of Diego “Richard” and Catherine (Lentini) Martin. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward B. Walukas, who died February 8, 1973; sisters, Angeline Reitz, Mary Mihalich, Rose Ruud, and Catherine “Honey” Schlabig; and brothers, Joseph, James, Angelo and Samuel Martin. 

Survived by sons, Steve (Linda) and Edward (Robin); grandson, Michael; sister, Sarah West (Sonny); and numerous nieces and nephews. Jennie was a devout member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork; and up until the age of 102 served as lector during services at her assisted living community. She once said her secrets to living a long life are that “God has been good to her, and plenty of hard candy.” 

Friends will be received Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Followed by the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fr. Joseph C. Nale celebrant.
