PETKOSH – Helen, 95, Sidman, died May 19, 2023, at Rose of Sharon Home. Born May 28, 1927, in Wilbur, Pennsylvania; daughter of John and Elizabeth (Kuzma) Hancharik. Preceded in death by parents; husband, George J. Petkosh Jr., who died June 2, 1999; grandson, Nathan Bosic; sisters, Elizabeth, Ann, Pauline, and Verna; and brothers, John, Joe, Mike, George, and Andrew.
Survived by children, David, married to Marj (Hall); Donna, married to James Brummert; Deborah, married to Rodger Thomas; and Damian, married to Carla (Kozak); sister, Mary Doxey; grandchildren, Shane, Ligeia, and Hilary; and great grandchildren, Aaron, Noah, and Daniela
Helen was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church for 67 years; where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir, and enjoyed fellowship in the Alter Rosary Society. She was a wonderful baker and cook, blessing her family with everything homemade. She was known for her special sugar cookies, nut roll, and halupki. Helen was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching the Pirates, Steelers, and Penn State football. She was proud of her Slovak heritage and everyone that knew her, called her “Bubba.” She touched so many lives and will be missed every day.
Honoring her wishes, visitation will be private. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 751 Locust Street, St. Michael; Monsignor David Lockard, celebrant.
