Harry K. Evans

EVANS – Harry K. “Tex,” 83, St. Michael, died February 24, 2026. Born July 4, 1942, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents, James and Martha (Mock) Benton and his uncle and aunt who adopted him, Samual and Jennie (Benton) Evans; companion, Margaret E. Rhoads; siblings, Sarah Wills, Betty Bracken, Curtis Benton, Alice Evans, Ruby Patterson, and James Benton.

Survived by sister, Darlene Babish; and Margaret’s children, Shirley Ann Brunnett, Betty Croyle, Patty McGee, and Robert Rhoads; and good friend, Dawn.

Tex was a 1961 graduate of Portage Area High School. He enjoyed fishing, was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and if there was wrestling on, he was watching that too. He loved his cats! And he donated blood regularly with the hope of helping others. Tex was a good guy.
