Gary Robert Tolar
January 20, 1966 — November 4, 2023
TOLAR – Gary R., 57, South Fork, lost his long-fought battle with cancer on Saturday November 4, 2023. He went peacefully on that beautiful afternoon with his favorite nurse Ashley by his side at Maple Heights (formerly Cambria Care) in Ebensburg. Born January 20, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Dwayne and Hazel (Conley) McAnulty; father, Michael Tolar; and mother, Lois (McAnulty) Stohon.
He is survived by his brothers, Jim Tolar and Michael Tolar, married to Betty Jo (Overman); children, Stacy, married to Christopher (Whiteside); Gary; and Dustin, married to Kayla (Smay); grandchildren, Jordan, Riley, Austin, Aubree, AnnaBeth, and Nathaniel; nephew, Michael, niece Jessica; and Uncle Bill and Aunt Darlene.
Gary was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1984. He was lighthearted, fun loving, and free spirited. He loved Ford Broncos, Mopar muscle cars, working on just about anything with an engine, Nascar, and numerous other outdoor activities. He absolutely adored laughing and joking with friends and loved ones and sneaking down to Dustin's garage to see "what he was tinkering on today." He was a kind soul to those he loved most and will be sadly missed by many.
Honoring his request, there will be no visitation.
A remembrance service will be held at a later date.
