Gail Morris

MORRIS - Gail “Nonny,” 74, of Beaverdale, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Nonny enjoyed her grandchildren and sharing her cooking and baking with others, a sign of her selfless and caring personality. In addition to her role as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Nonny was a devout Christian and fierce advocate for children’s ministry who ran the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School programs at Sidman United Methodist Church for multiple decades. She was a member of Emmanuel Church in Johnstown, and she was also a long-time supporter of the Honduran orphanage Hogar de Ninos Enmanual. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the orphanage (link below).

Nonny’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Conemaugh Hospital, UPMC Hospital and Conemaugh Hospice for all of the kind and compassionate care they have provided throughout her illness. Nonny’s earthly suffering is at an end, and she is in the Lord’s hands.

Born on October 8, 1950, Gail was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Rusnak) Josephson of Sidman. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John Morris, her children Michelle (Bill) Beecy, Colleen (Matt) Koenigsberg, and Tiffany Morris, four grandchildren whom she cherished: Taylor, Alex, Sydney and Billy; and sisters, Pat Cameron and Fran Gardner.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., 621 Maple St., South Fork; where a celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, Alex and Matt Koenigsberg presiding.
