ROUSH – Franklin D. Sr., 91, Salix, died August 22, 2026. Born March 3, 1935, in Dunlo.
Preceded in death by parents, Philip and Dorothy (Weaver) Roush; brothers, Ronald, Robert, James, John, Edwin, Morgan “Bo;” and William Roush; sisters: Julia Ann, Emma Catherine Roush, Naomi Boxler, Ruth Zerfoss, and Phyllis Barr.
Survived by sons, Jim and John, married to Sandra (Wirfel); granddaughter, Zoe; grandson, Dakota (Geo); and great granddaughter, Isnes. And not to exclude the oldest son and pride of the family, Franklin D. Roush Jr., attorney at law, who with his legal education acquired the assets belonging to his father and removed him from the family farm in 2014.
During the 1970’s and 80’s, Frank played a pivotal role in raising awareness and safeguarding agricultural land from restrictive zoning ordinances. Even at 91 farming was his life. Frank understood the seasons, the soil, and the weather. He knew that good things take time and that hard work matters. May he rest in peace, having finally finished his work.
