SAUTER – Evelyn “Evie,” 79, Sidman, went to be with the Lord September 12, 2024, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born October 2, 1944, in Johnstown.
Preceded in death by parents, Andrew Jr. and Eva (Bugal) Konkula; first husband, Gary F. Patrick, who died February 14, 1978; sister, Dolores Yeager; brothers, John and Joseph; nephew, Patrick Vitelli; and niece, Cynde Vitelli.
Survived by husband of 35 years, Henry A. “Hank” Sauter; son, Allen, married to Lynne (Knisel); daughter, Tara Nicklow; grandchildren, Kayla, Krista, Jacob, Karley, Derek, Tricia, Matthew, Libby, and Cheyenne, great-granddaughter, Ana; sisters, Kathleen Vitelli and Gloria Konkula; brother, Stephen Konkula; five nephews and three nieces; and her beloved dog, Baby.
Evie was a longtime employee at Mussleman’s Jewelers, worked at the Jewelry Box, and was a secretary for Trinity Lutheran Church, Sidman. She was a devout member of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Windber. Evie loved cooking and baking, going to see movies and plays with her friends, losing at basket parties with her daughter-in-law, family get-togethers, dancing and listening to all types of music, and her pets, whom she cherished. Evie had a kind and gentle nature and was loved by all who knew her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 13 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; where Panachida will be sung at 7:30 p.m.
Brief service at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by Divine Liturgy which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, the Very Reverend Father Miles Zdinak, Celebrant.
