Earl "Sam" Wadsworth

WADSWORTH – Earl R., “Sam,””Jingles,” 76, Richland, formerly of South Fork, died June 27, 2019; at home. Born April 21, 1943, in South Fork, son of Herbert B. and Evelyn L. (Bassett) Wadsworth. Preceded in death by parents; and beloved daughter, Kira K. Baumgardner.

Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Joan M. (Robinson) Wadsworth, whom he married September 11, 1964; daughters, Dawn D., wife of Todd Hall, New Florence; and Heather, wife of Shawn Bond, Richland; grandchildren, Rebecca, Melanie, Samantha, Lucy, Alexander, Brooke, Alyssa, Cameron and Logan; brothers, Gary, married to Janet (Hodge), Baltimore, Maryland; David, married to Sharon (Ricketts) Seattle, Washington; and sisters, Jane, widow of Danny L. Hutzel, Summerhill; and Janis, wife of William McAllister, Ohio.

Sam was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, class of 1961. He attended Parsons Junior College in Parson, Kansas; and was a graduate of Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas; earning a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Together with his wife he owned and operated Liberty Park. He was a gym teacher for Greater Johnstown Vo-tech and retired from the Forest Hills School District. He was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

A private visitation and funeral service were held at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
