Donald L. Sauter

SAUTER – Donald L., 85, South Fork, went to be with the Lord August 17, 2026. Born January 5, 1941, in Beaverdale. Preceded in death by parents, Lloyd H. and Anne Mae (Krupa) Sauter.

Survived by loving wife of 44 years, Carol L. (Miller) Sauter, whom he married, June 25, 1982; son, Bryan, married to Jocelyn (McNeel); and brothers, Ronald, widower of Jane (Wilson); Gary; Henry, widower of Evelyn (Konkulka); and Lynn, married to Georgenne (Phillan).

Don graduated from South Fork-Croyle High School, class of 1958. In 1967, he joined Reighard Machine Inc. Through years of hard work and determination, he rose to become the company's owner in 1989. He was proud to pass on the values that kept the company strong onto his son. Don was active in his community. He was a member of Windber Country Club, a social member of St. Michael American Legion, Post 551; and a member of Dunlo Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed a good round of golf with the Tuesday Duffers, a hand of poker with friends, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers as a longtime season ticket holder. His life was one of dedication to his family, his work, his friends, and the community.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown, Pastor Nancy Hoover officiating. Interment, Dunmyer Cemetery.
