LAUTENBACHER – Donald J., 49, Windber, passed away August 10, 2025. Born April 20, 1976, in Johnstown, son of the late Robert Lautenbacher and Gaynelle (Clites) Schmieder.
Survived by loving wife of 23 years, Elaine M. (Mulhollen) Lautenbacher, whom he married July 20, 2002; beloved children, Kara and Kolt; sister, Amber Lautenbacher; niece, Sorina Leary (husband, Michael); nephew, Aiden Cooper; great nieces, Vanessa, Gianna, and Philomena Leary; step-father, Mark Schmieder; father and mother in-law, David and Barbara (Holdsworth) Mulhollen; sister-in-law, Brenda (Mulhollen) Burkett (husband, Trevor) and their children, Lakin (fiancé, Jared) and Trevor; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Don was a graduate of Blacklick Valley High School, class of 1995, drove truck for Waste Management, and was a member of the Elton Sportsmen’s Club. His children were his greatest joy, and he carried quiet pride in the people they are becoming. Whether he was deep in the woods hunting, casting a fishing line on a cool morning, or simply sitting around a campfire with friends, Don taught us that sometimes the simplest moments are the best.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend Geno Bartoletti presiding.
Private interment at a later date.
