KAUFFMAN – Deborah M. “Debbie,” 75, Salix, died April 29, 2026. Born May 5, 1950, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by mother, Mary (Sulik) Skrout; aunt and uncle, Helen and Michael Sulik, and grandmother, Ann Sulik, all who helped raise her.
Survived by loving husband of 57 years, Ronald Kauffman, whom she married June 22, 1968; daughters, Nicole Kauffman-Lomakin, wife of Tony Lomakin; and Heather Kauffman; beloved granddaughters, Vanessa and Erika; special sister-in-law, Lorri Burkhart; and many dear friends, especially Donna and Phyllis.
Debbie was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1968. For many years, she opened her home and heart to the children she babysat. To them, she was more than a caregiver, she was a teacher and often a second mother. She passed along life lessons through patience and kindness. Her influence lives on in countless lives shaped by her care. She had a great sense of humor, quick with a remark and always ready with a smile. Even in tough moments, she’d find a way to make you laugh and remind you not to take life too seriously. Debbie taught us to love deeply, to nurture others, and to leave the world better than you found it.
