Debora Ann Wess

August 29, 1959 — March 26, 2020

WESS – Debora Ann, 60, New Germany, passed away March 26, 2020, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born August 29, 1959, in Johnstown, daughter of Donald C. and Reta D. (Smith) Wess.

Preceded in death by mother, who died June 22, 1993; and brother, Timothy A. Wess, who died April 15, 2014.

Survived by father, New Germany; brother, Brian, married to Diane (Robson), Johnstown; and sister, Wendy, wife of Dale Yoder, Allentown; nieces, Sarah (Wilson), wife of Stan Doerrer, Arlington, Virginia; Madison Wess, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Jennifer Yoder, Allentown; nephews, Adam Wilson and friend Millie Gregor, Pittsburgh; Taylor Wess, Tyrone; and Josh Yoder, Allentown; and great nieces and nephews, Colton and Wesley Doerrer; Sadie, Alma, and Pearl Wilson; and Clair Yoder.

Debby was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany. She was a graduate of Forest Hills High School and worked for the Cambria County Association for the Blind for 20 years. Debby faced her adversities with courage, determination, and an endearing dose of stubbornness. Family and friends alike admired her keen memory, quick wit, and her amazing ability to make the best of everything.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice or to the Special Olympics, an organization much loved by her and her mom.

Her favorite parting phrase to Dad was, “love you Dad, now and forever.” We too love you Debby, “now and forever.”

A Funeral Mass will be planned for a time when we can again gather to share hugs and memories.

Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.
