TRANTER - David Paul, 74, Campbell Hall, NY; born December 26, 1941, passed away on Aug 6, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Nadia Tranter; children, David Earl and Kristi Ann; sisters, Joanne (Matt) Waddell; Karen (Jim) Hardbower; Linda (John) Heidenreich; and Erlene (Keith) Naugle; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed by all. David grew up in South Fork and even though he lived in New York always loved to return to spend time with family and friends. He had a unique sense of humor and loved to amuse friends and family with stories and jokes. He loved cooking especially his favorite childhood dishes. He was a skilled carpenter and very proud of his handiwork, especially his man-cave in his home. He loved to hunt, ride his motorcycle, play cards, spend time at the cabin he built in upstate New York, and was an avid Steelers fan. He took pride in his life long train and gun collection. He retired from Rockland State Hospital and New York State Parks and Recreation Department. He served with the Pennsylvania and New York National Guard and was a member of the South Fork VFW. He was a lifetime member of the South Fork Volunteer Fire Company. He continued to support the company through the years and when he was home would assist with emergency situations and fund raisers. Funeral and burial services were held in New York. As an expression of sympathy, please consider memorial donation in his honor to the South Fork Volunteer Fire Company, 520 Church Street, South Fork, PA 15956.
