Danny Ray Adams

ADAMS – Danny Ray, 71, Summerhill, formerly of Salix; died December 11, 2023. Born May 2, 1952, in Williamston, North Carolina; son of Bernice D. and Katie (Scott) Adams.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, Cathy J. (Ellenberger) Adams, who died April 13, 2018; and brother, Melvin Douglas Adams.

Survived by daughter, Christina (Paul Grosik); son, Danny Ray Jr. (Gary Thurby); stepson, Robert Tasker; grandchildren, Matthew, Jared, and Ella; and sisters, Shirley (Buddy Turner), and Myrna (Peter Pilgreen).

Member of Mount Hope Community Church. Danny Ray retired from the US Army after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Adams Township Area Lions Club and a former District Governor.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork; where the Lions Club will have a service at 4 p.m.

Visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Hope Community Church, the Reverend Joseph Stains presiding.

Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
