MOSS – Billie Rae “BR,” 83, South Fork, went to be with the Lord, November 10, 2025. Born March 24, 1942, in South Fork, daughter of Robert E. "Teddy" and Ida Mae (Link) Peel. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John R. “Butch” Moss, who died July 29, 2016; son, John “Butchie” Jr.; sisters, Naomi Schrader, Ruth Barnouski, Jean Gramling, Roselyn June Leach, Shirley Myers, and Maxine Chaney.
Survived by children; Teddy; Lisa (Karen); Donald (Karen); and Michael (Sarah); daughter-in-law, Missy (Sheedy) Moss; seven grandsons; five granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters; Joanne Primel and Janice Lydic; brother, John "Ted;” and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billie poured her spirit into the congregation at Wesley United Methodist Church, singing joyfully in the choir, guiding young hearts as a Sunday school teacher, and helping with funeral meals. She enjoyed sharing a laugh at the Forest Hills Senior Center, volunteering with the South Fork Women’s Club, and catching up with friends at the Newsstand. A gifted baker and cook, her kitchen was often filled with the scent of something wonderful, and if you were lucky, she’d insist you take a plate home with you. Her life was a patchwork of faith, friendship, and service, sewn together with love and more than a little stubbornness. She leaves behind memories that will continue to comfort and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
