Barbara A. Reighard

REIGHARD – Barbara A., 85, Sidman, died December 3, 2024, at home. Born March 25, 1939, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents; John J. and Frances A. (Smith) Karl; husband, Foster J. “Jim” Reighard, who died December 4, 2020; infant brother, Bruce; brothers, John “Jack,” Charles W. “Bill,” and James; and in-laws, Robert Hebel, Betty Jane (Harvey) Karl, and Carolyn (Varner) Karl. 

Survived by son, Douglas J., married to Jackie (Emerick) Reighard; grandson, Cameron J. “CJ” Reighard; sister, Nancy Hebel; brother, Don Karl; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Gahagan) Karl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb was a talented seamstress who worked at several local sewing factories and was always willing to help her community, altering uniforms and gear for area firefighters and police officers. She had a quiet strength and unwavering dedication. And showed us that even small contributions, made with love, can have a lasting impact. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Community Church, Pastor Justin Rohrbaugh presiding. 

Inurnment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
