Violet C. Novotny

NOVOTNY - Violet C., 85, Ebensburg, died November 6, 2021, at Cambria Care Center. Born June 15, 1936, in Ehrenfeld, daughter of John and Catherine (Sikorski) Mickolick. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John Novotny, who died August 31, 2013; sisters, Genevieve Dlusky, Delores Fyock, and Elizabeth Stevanus; and brothers, Joseph and Bernard Mickolick.

Survived by daughter, Susan, wife of Mark Kressley, Ellicott City, Maryland; and son, Anthony, married to Kristine (Billings), Fairfield, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Merrik Kressley, Kai Novotny, Haedyn Kressley, Silas Novotny, and Lilly Novotny; sister, Monica Reed, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.

Violet was an employee of Giant Food and retired in 1996 after more than 20 years of loyal service. She was also a member of the Third Order of the Franciscans, which she was extremely proud of. She spent many years of devoted service to this order by volunteering her time locally. She was also a dedicated member of the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Ellicott City, Maryland; where she volunteered her time for 26 years. Violet was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Her loving nature and selflessness were two of her greatest characteristics.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork, 550 Main Street, South Fork; Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.

Committal, St. Marys Cemetery, New Germany.
