Valerie A. Wilson

WILSON – Valerie A., 71, Mount Hope, died September 22, 2022. Born March 21, 1951, in Johnstown, daughter of Andrew V. and Viola J. (Dobrowolsky) Sliko. Preceded in death by parents; and infant sister, Mary Ann.

Survived by daughter, Lori A., wife of James Roman, Woodland, Pennsylvania; son, Derek Wilson, Mount Hope; grandson, A.J. Wilson; brothers, Victor G., married to Carmen Ann, Lititz, Pennsylvania; Terry, Plant City, Florida; and sister, Evette Sliko, Mount Hope; nieces, Jennifer, Michelle, and Carey; nephew, Cody, and their families. Also, dear friends, Becky Dembrosky and Chris Mraz.

Member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. Graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1969. Val worked for over 30 years as a dedicated and compassionate LPN. She loved her nursing career and had many wonderful memories of working with her “OB Girls” at Mercy OB Department. She was an avid reader, loved to garden, spend time outdoors, and care for her beloved pets.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.

Committal, St. James Cemetery, South Fork.
