Regina M. Wirfel

WIRFEL – Regina M. “Jean”, 92, New Germany, died April 23, 2018, at Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg. Born February 26, 1926, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Oscar and Helen (Sanker) Montgomery.
Preceded in death by parents; step-father, Gerald Sharbaugh; husband, Regis Wirfel, who died March 5, 2015; sister, Marilyn Henry; and brother, Joseph Montgomery.
Survived by children, Dennis, Dillsburg; Deborah, wife of Ron Himes, Altoona; Cindy, wife of Ray Lucas, Ebensburg; William, New Germany; Patrick, and partner, Craig Dahmen, Oxnard, CA; Joan, wife of Paul Simmons, Bel Air, MD; Lisa, wife of Bob Snyder, Enola; Tom, married to Shirley Astolos, Mechanicsburg; Nancy Wirfel and partner, Scott Thornton, Mechanicsburg; and Rick, Pittsburgh; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and sister, Lois Bearer, Patton.
Jean was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany and their Altar Rosary Society, the Ladies Card Club and a leader in 4-H for many years. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many wedding dresses throughout the years.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Con- Celebrants, Father Leon Hont, OSB and Rev. Msgr. Robert Mazur . Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Germany. Thank you to Southern Care Hospice and Allegheny Lutheran Home for the wonderful care of our mother.
