Patti Ann Sliko

November 30, 1951 — June 18, 2021

SLIKO – Patti Ann, 69, departed as a pilgrim on earth on June 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 30, 1951, in South Fork, daughter of Ray and Jeanne (Morgan) Baxter.
Preceded in death by parents; son Corey Varner in 2016; and step-son, Adam Sliko in 2021.
Survived by husband, Kenneth J. “Kenny” Sliko, Adams Township; and her children Keith Varner D.C. and companion Kristi Kuhn, St. Michael; and Carrie (Varner) Wasnick, South Fork, whom she shared with her former husband, James Varner. Also survived by loving grandsons, Jacob, Logan, and Ethan Wasnick, who were “the apples of her eyes!”; brother, Jack and Johnnie Baxter; and nephew, Brandon and his family.

Patti drove school bus for Miller Motors for 17 years and more recently for McIlwain School Bus Lines since 2003. Employed by the Johnstown Credit Bureau, Inc. for 51 years. Active member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Johnstown. Graduate of Forest Hills High School class of 1969, where she was a cheerleader, and played volleyball and basketball. Avid tennis player, tennis captain and played in the USTA for many years. Treasurer of South Fork Heritage Days, former secretary for the Cambria-Somerset Tea Party, and a founding member of the Forest Hills Alumni Association. President of the Adams Twp. Boys League, Women’s Auxiliary, and long time coach for the Adams Twp. Girls League. Patti was the third part of the “Golden Girls” along with Sandy Burkey and Nancy Trostle, her best and trusted friends to the end.

Patti’s lifelong dedication to helping others ended with one final act for society as it was her wish that her body be donated to science.

Friends will be received at the church from 4 p.m. until time of service at 5:30 p.m. Friday July 9, 2021 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown; Pastor Scott Klimke, presiding.

Patti knew that she would be in Paradise with Jesus and she prayed that her Lord would greet her with: “well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt 25:21). “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)

The family is being served by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork. Online condolences may be left at www.dimondfuneralhome.com .
