Margaret S. Spodnik

SPODNIK – Margaret Sophie, 93, formerly of South Fork, died peacefully July 19, 2022, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born February 28, 1929, in South Fork, the last surviving child of John Sr. and Mary (Yurechko) Sikora. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Leo William Spodnik, who died December 8, 2020; sisters, Helen Vann, Mary Ritacco, Katherine Golda, and Anna Shaffer; brothers, John, Nicholas, and Joseph; nieces, JoAnne Guy and Carol Bassett; and nephew, William Sikora.

Survived by nieces, Betsy McDermott, Nanty Glo; Betty Hatchette, Herndon, Virginia; and Judy Dabbs, Beaverdale; and nephews, Michael Shaffer, East Taylor; John Sikora, Richfield, Ohio; Larry Vann, Niagara Falls, Canada; James Vann, Johnstown; Robert Vann, Johnstown; and Nick Sikora Jr., Beaverdale.

Margaret was a graduate of South Fork High School, class of 1947 and a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. She was employed at the former Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg; and for many years worked at Valko’s AG Store, South Fork.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m.

Friday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.
