Margaret Hope Dipko

DIPKO – Margaret Hope, 88, St. Michael, Pennsylvania; died June 6, 2022, at Country Manor Living, Jerome, Pennsylvania. Born July 9, 1933, in Windber, Pennsylvania; daughter of Joseph and Virginia Pearl (Morgart) Dipko. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Eugene B. Matthews; sister, Virginia Williams; and brother, Joseph Dipko.
She is survived her sister-in-law, Lori Dipko and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Hope had a deep and abiding faith and attended services at Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Bob Jones Academy and Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina; and earned an M.A. in Education from the University of Michigan. The life of scholar and academic was a source of deep pride and personal fulfillment. Much of her professional life was dedicated to The State University of New York, where she was an associate professor in the Education Department.
Honoring her wishes, all services will be held in Michigan. Family and friend will be received Thursday, June 16th from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI 48067.
Interment, alongside her parents and sister at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan.
