Lorraine M. Seyda

SEYDA – Lorraine M., 100, Ellicott City, Maryland; went to be with her Lord, July 30, 2018, at Augsburg Assisted Living, Gwynn Oak, Maryland.
Born April 16, 1918, in South Fork PA, she was the last surviving child of C. Herbert and Rose (Bortel) Wadsworth.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, the Rev. Arthur R. Seyda, who died Feb 11, 1991; sisters, Mahala May, Grace Bracken, Lois Frank and Betty Smith; and brothers, Herbert, Robert, William “Earl,” George, John “Dean,” Clyde and Ralph Wadsworth.
Survived by daughters, Linda Seyda, wife of Robert Boris, Philadelphia; Kathryn Bainbridge, Ellicott City, Maryland; and Mary Seyda, wife of Patrick Sullivan, Brooklyn, New York; grandchildren, Matthew Bainbridge, Bloomington, Indiana; Briana Bainbridge, wife of Sam Kriemelmeyer, Catonsville, Maryland; and Brendan Sullivan, Brooklyn, New York.
During her nearly fifty years of marriage, Lorraine supported her husband Arthur serving Lutheran parishes and student organizations in Liverpool, NY, Stratford, CT, Northwestern University, Philadelphia, Pa, Penn State University and Easton, Pa. She also worked as a secretary for Penn State University and Lafayette College. After their retirement, they lived in North Port, FL and Three Mile Bay, NY, where she enjoyed singing in the local chorus and musical productions and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She spent her final years with her daughter Kathryn in Ellicott City, MD and then Augsburg Assisted Living.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday August 7 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 8, the Rev. Walter Startzel presiding. Interment, South Fork Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Augsburg for caring for Lorraine in her final years while she was suffering with Alzheimer’s.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her name to The Resident Care Fund for Augsburg Village, 6811 Campfield Road, Baltimore, MD 21027.
