Josephine "Bubba" Connelly

CONNELLY – Josephine, “Bubba,” 93, South Fork, died November 22, 2018, at Rose of Sharon Home, St. Michael. Born April 9, 1925 in Portage, daughter of Stanley and Sophie (Wojcik) Stanchek.

She was the last surviving member of her and her husband’s immediate families. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John J. “Jack” Connelly, who died May 18, 1996; son, John T. “Shawn” Connelly Sr., grandsons, Barry Savering and Jacob Connelly; brothers, Louis, Stanley and Fred; and son-in-law, Barry Savering.

Survived by children, Connie, wife of Harry Noel, Nanty Glo; Gerri Savering, Richland; and Robert, Williamsport; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Josephine was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, South Fork. Family gatherings were always made special by her amazing efforts to prepare wonderful meals, celebrations and time with family. She enjoyed listening to Polka’s and relaxing with an occasional beer.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, by Father Joseph C. Nale.

Private committal, St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore.
