SARKA - Joseph, 83, St. Michael, died December 2, 2017, at Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home. Born September 1, 1934, in Windber, son of Charles and Mary (Juhasz) Sarka.
Preceded in death by parents; wife, Joann (Waddell) Sarka who died June 11, 1995; brothers, Alex and Charles Szarka and Arthur and Frank Sarka; and sisters, Jennie Bakhan and Irene Michrina.
Survived by son, Joseph, married to Karen (Lees), Richland; grandchildren, Cory, Lyndsy; and Aaron; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Sellers and Mary Newcomer.
Joe retired from Bethlehem Mine 33 after more than 30 years of service. Member of UMWA. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and pitching horseshoes. Joe was also a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing and woodworking.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, Pastor Richard Smith officiating.
Interment, Dunlo United Methodist Cemetery.
