John R. "Butch" Moss

MOSS – John R., “Butch,” 77, South Fork, died July 29, 2016, at home surrounded by family. Born Feb. 5, 1939, in Llanfair, son of Charles and Nellie (Nicol) Moss.

Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Arthur, Robert, James, Charles and Samuel; and sisters, Helen Resick and Jean Wadsworth.

Survived by loving wife of 59 years, Billie Rae (Peel) Moss, whom he married Mar. 30, 1957; children, John “Butchie” Jr., married to Missy Sheedy, South Fork; Teddy J., Marianna, PA; Lisa Moss, and partner Karan, New Germany; Donald E., married to Karen Frazer, Salix; and Michael S., married to Brenda Galosi, Salix; seven grandsons; five granddaughters; two great-grandsons; 6 great-granddaughters; brother Donald Moss, Cleveland, Ohio; sister-in-law, Caroline (Pesci) Moss, Ehrenfeld; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Butch was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School, Class of 1957. He retired from the car shop at Bethlehem Steel Corp., was a member of First United Methodist Church, South Fork, and enjoyed hunting and trout fishing.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Arlene Bobrowicz officiating.
