John Buriak

BURIAK – John, 85, Johnstown, died March 20, 2017, at Laurelwood Care Center. Born July 6, 1931, in East Taylor, son of Demetro and Mary (Toporila) Buriak.

Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Evelyn (Costlow) Buriak, who died July 18, 2010; brother, Harry; and sisters, Ann Slavich, Kathryn Feuhr, Helen Newman, Pearl Marharsky and Nellie Botteicher.

Survived by brother-in-laws, Lawrence Costlow, Beltsville, Maryland; Donald Costlow, Gaynesville, Virginia; and sister-in-law, Violet Mae Costlow, South Fork; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Barry and Pat Cigich and, Bob Ernest and family. John was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Conemaugh. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 38 years of service.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork., where Parastas will be sung at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday and continue immediately at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, the Very Rev. George Johnson.

Committal, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
