WAKSMUNSKI - Jennie W., passed on peacefully at The Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home in St. Michael, Pa. on Thursday October 22, 2020.

Born in Bangor, Maine; January 30, 1925. Daughter of Joseph and Stenislawia (Pyzynski) Wozniak.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Louis F. 1980; fiancé, Frank Koval 2012; adopted daughter, Victoria Louise “Dolly” (aka Rebecca Jane Ashcom) Mikolich 2011; brother Bruno; and sisters, Mary Farnsworth-Watson-Mugan, Stephanie Sulinski, Helen Minorics, and Victoria Miezejeski.

Survived by adopted son, John (aka Cornicelli, aka Farnsworth, aka Watson), married to Agnes (Bem) Waksmunski, Portage; and their children: Sean (Lisa) and their son, Kal-El, Punxsutawney; Sean’s daughter, Sydni; and her mother, Kristy Caville, Indiana, Pa.; Benjamin, Hefei, China; Brian (Pricilla) and their daughter, Julia and their son, Wander, Sandwich, Ma.; Angela (John) Holmes and their daughters, Scarlet and Lyla, Arlington, Va.; Christina (Gustavo) Ortega and their son, Gustovito and their daughter, Zoe, Bay Harbor Islands, Fl.; and Maria (Aron) Abrams and their daughter, Amelia, Carey, NC.; as well as Vicki’s children: Jennie Anderson and her daughter, Vicki and her son, Jacob Rockwell; Brian; Steven; and Katie Mickolich, all of Johnstown, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A longtime resident of the Wilmore / New Germany area. She was a member of Saint Bartholomew Parish Wilmore, St. Anne Society, Polish Heritage Council, and Polish Women’s Alliance of America. Former bowler in Catholic Ladies League. Jennie was happiest when attending Polka functions and dancing as often as possible. She was very proud of her Polish Heritage and to be from the state of Maine. Jennie was a veteran of the US Army WAC’s (Womens Army Corps), WWII. Jennie and Louie had no children of their own but opened their home to her dying sister Mary’s son Johnny and later a baby Victoria “Dolly” (aka Rebecca Jane Ashcom) from the Catholic Charities.

Honoring her wishes visitation will be private.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Wilmore; Father Joseph C. Nale, Celebrant.

Committal, St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery.

Military graveside service by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.

Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Family thanks the staff at The Rose of Sharon Personal Care Home for their devotion to Jennie for the last eight years.

Donations may be made in donors name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital because “no child should have to suffer from cancer” and or one of the Women’s Breast Cancer Research Funds such as Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.
