James J. Hannakan

HANNAKAN – James J., 76, Portage, died January 31, 2020, at Brookside Manor, Portage. Born February 3, 1943, in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph M. and Elizabeth M. (Bozich) Hannakan.

Survived by daughter, Tiffany M., wife of Ryan Lytle, Summerhill; granddaughter, Katie; and sister, Deborah A., wife of Barry Horner, Crawfordville, Florida.

Jim was a graduate of Richland High School, class of 1961; and earned A bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a US Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Long Beach (CGN-9) during the Vietnam War. Jim retired from the Ebensburg State Center after 30 years of service.

Honoring his wishes there will be no public visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery, Wilmore; celebrant Father Joseph C. Nale.

Military rites by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.
